     CUPS Federal Credit Union is owned by its members and run by a board of directors you elect. You can be confident that financial privacy is a top priority of your credit union. This notice describes how we protect the privacy of your personal information, and gives you an opportunity to let us know if you do not want certain information about you disclosed to other businesses.

     In the course of providing services, we collect information about you, personal information that is not publicly available. CUPS Federal Credit Union does not sell membership lists or your nonpublic personal information.

     We do, however, share some information about you with other companies in order to complete your transactions and to provide you with certain financial service opportunities. Information CUPS Federal Credit Union Collects About You:

CUPS Federal Credit Union collects the following information about you from a variety of sources:

From membership and loan applications and other forms you submit to us, we obtain your name, address, social security number, age, place of employment, home and work telephone numbers, birthplace, current assets, liabilities, number of dependants, financial institutions you hold accounts with, automobile information, and other pertinent information required to open an account or secure a loan with CUPS Federal Credit Union.

From your transactions with us, companies that work closely with us to provide you with financial products and services, we obtain ATM transactions, Share Draft transactions, ACH/Direct Deposit transactions, payroll deductions, insurance payments/information, and share draft printers.

From consumer reporting agencies, we obtain information on your creditworthiness, credit history, share draft/checking account histories, and savings account histories.


Information CUPS Federal Credit Union Discloses About You:

     We may disclose all of the information that we collect, as described above. We do not disclose any nonpublic information about our members and former members, except as permitted by law, such as to our data processor and for purposes of collecting loans.

     We do not enter into marketing agreements or other information sharing situations with vendors unless we have a written confidentiality clause, an agreement not to share your information other than to carry out the purpose for which the information is shared.

     CUPS Federal Credit Union does not share information with other businesses about former members, co-borrowers and guarantors who are not members, or occasional users of credit union services such as money order purchases, except as may be permitted by law.


Businesses With Whom CUPS Federal Credit Union Shares Information:

     We may disclose information about you as permitted or required by law, such as to legal counsel, bonding companies, law enforcement agencies, etc. Furthermore, we may share information about you with the following types of businesses:

Financial service providers, such as insurance services, ATM services, ACH/Direct Deposit services, Share Draft services, Payroll services, draft printing services.

Non-financial companies, such as loan collection and credit reporting agencies.

     Some of these companies that we may also disclose part or all of the information we collect as described above, market the credit union¡¯s services or are insurance companies, with whom we have joint confidentiality clause agreements. CUPS Federal Credit Union enters into business arrangements only with businesses that we believe will provide our membership with competitive financial products and that follow strict confidentiality requirements to assure that any information shared is safeguarded.

     In no instance does CUPS Federal Credit Union provide any information that will allow companies marketing their financial services to access your account without written confidentiality clauses.


How CUPS Federal Credit Union Protects Your Information

     We restrict access to information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your personal financial information.

     We want to bring to your attention that there may be instances where you erroneously believe the credit union has released personal information about you. For example, information about a secured loan you have from our credit union may be publicly available in local government records, and a business has compiled this information in order to market you a product that this credit union does not endorse.

     As a member of our credit union, we remind you that you have a responsibility to safeguard your financial information by protecting your identification access numbers and reviewing your periodic account statements.
